The Presbyterian Inland Mission is a Ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Australia
We exist to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in Australia’s hard-to-get-to places. Our purpose has been clearly given to us in two ways:
- By Jesus – Matt 28:19 – 20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”.
- By the Presbyterian Church of Australia – through the GAA Regulations for the PIM Committee. The function of the Committee is to provide for the advancement of the Gospel through the establishment of patrol ministries and Christian mission in the remote and sparsely populated areas of Australia, generally known as ‘the Inland’.
People living in remote areas face many challenges, needing assistance and support in a variety of ways. As a committee we have limited expertise and resources to assist in the many aspects required for this work. The focus of our efforts is therefore on the unique contribution we can make to people’s lives – introducing them to the Lord Jesus Christ and helping believers to grow in Christian maturity.
