Ministers Preaching Workshop

21st – 24th August 2023

Training for ministers and elders who preach regularly

God is building his church, not just in numbers, but in maturity. This happens primarily through regular, prayerful, systematic, and expositional preaching of his Word by teachers who are faithful to its text, clear in their presentation and relevant in their application.

At Presbyterian Inland Mission, we seek to continually bring God’s Word to believers and unbelievers. With the help of this workshop, we hope to see ministers growing in their skills and experience to help us achieve this vision.

Participants of the Ministers Preaching Workshop are trained and encouraged to employ preaching which is both faithful to the text and engaging with the listener. Over 3 days participants will be led through the foundations of expository preaching, with a focus on preparation, interpretation and application of scripture that can connect with listeners.

PIM is partnering with the Expository Preaching Trust to offer this workshop, presented by David Cook and Jim Mobbs.

The Expository Preaching Trust

The Expository Preaching Trust was formed in 2011 in order to encourage expository preaching in churches.

Expository preaching is preaching which focuses on the explanation and application of a section of Scripture and is built on the theological conviction that the Bible is the Word of God. We encourage preaching which is both faithful to the text and engaging with the listener.

The staff of the Trust consists of David Cook, formerly Principal of SMBC, Janet Riley, formerly Dean of Women at SMBC, Stuart Coulton formerly Principal of SMBC and Jim Mobbs, graduate of SMBC and Minister at Como Presbyterian.

The Trust offers preaching clubs in city and country NSW, preaching workshops run intensively over 3 days, and weekly individual preaching mentoring.

The Trust resources can be accessed via: eptrust.org.au
